DECLARATION OF JUSTICE

DECLARATION OF JUSTICE

In October 2025, in Wrocław, Poland, the Mariupol Declaration of Justice was signed for the first time. This international document of solidarity attests to a shared position on the necessity of establishing the truth about the events in Mariupol and ensuring accountability for war crimes committed against the city and its residents.

The Declaration recognizes the deliberate destruction of Mariupol during the full-scale Russian aggression as a tragedy of international proportions and emphasizes the importance of documenting destruction, collecting testimonies, and building an evidence base for national and international legal proceedings. Special emphasis is placed on the right of victims to fair reparation for the damages incurred.

The document was signed by representatives of the Mariupol City Council, the City of Wrocław, and partner institutions and organizations. The signing of the Declaration became a public gesture of solidarity with the Mariupol community and part of a broader international advocacy for justice.

The Declaration of Justice is an integral part of the Mariupol Justice project and reflects its key principle: justice for everyone affected by the war against Mariupol. The engagement of new signatories to the Declaration demonstrates international support for the restoration of justice.
